MY THOUGHTS

I don’t have any experience reading a series where every book is not written by the same author, so I wasn’t sure what to expect compared to the first book. I was pleasantly surprised! The setting felt consistent with what was set up in book 1, and the staff from the first one were present and still rang authentic. We even get a few cameo appearances from Mr. sexy were-tiger himself, Rekkus, from the first one.

Now in this story, Justin gets hurt on a mission and the person that did it is still at large, so thinking he’s keeping her safe, as well as not getting in too deep with her, he texts Holly to break up with her. Yeah what a jerk, right? A girl’s gotta have more closure than that, so she tracks his ass down! Holly not letting him get away with a short little text as a breakup really made my day. Ok so the sex scenes helped quite a bit too.

I had two problems with this story though. One, Justin was ridiculously stubborn and a bit hypocritical. I wanted to reach into the book and slap him at times for being such a jerk, plus he was a little depressing at times. Two, the overall plot was a little shaky. The villain was ultimately after someone else, but Justin was supposedly a threat and in the way, but after being hurt and in the vicinity of the ultimate target, I can’t help but think how silly it was that Justin remained the target.

Overall, while the plot wasn’t quite solid, the romance is and it makes for a steamy read with a satisfying ending. The best part, however, is Myron, she’s so fun!

About Sara Daniel

Sara Daniel writes what she loves to read–irresistible romance, from sweet to steamy and everything in between. She grew up in a small town and was once a landlord of two uninvited squirrels. She loses her car keys three times a day, occasionally loses her husband, but never, ever loses her laptop.
