Series: Standalone
Format: Book
Pages: 176

True gay love is a fairy tale. No matter what everyone says, that's what Dustin firmly believes. As he starts his first year of university, Dustin is happy in the closet, where he can meet his gay needs secretly through anonymous hookups. But when Dustin has his first hookup of the university term, with a muscular dark-eyed jock in the library men's room, he can't help notice the deep and immediate connection he feels, one that seems almost like love. It's over as quickly as it begins and, as all anonymous hookups go, Dustin never expects to see him again. The term gets difficult, especially when his math class begins. Dustin destresses with more hookups, but they don't sate him the way they used to, and he finds he cannot stop thinking about his start-of-term encounter. Soon, his academic needs outweigh the sexual, and Dustin caves in and gets a tutor.Attractive, well-built, dark-eyed...and a jock, his new tutor, Kyle, is none other than his anonymous hookup from the men's room. Fate seems to have connected him to the man of his dreams.Or maybe not, since Kyle is even more in the closet than Dustin is.

10 Things Readers Would Be Surprised to Know About Me

There’s always some mystique behind the label of “Author.” Just who, exactly, is that guy? Is he normal? Weird? Sexy? Dorky?

Well, here are ten things you might be surprised to know about me:

10. I do not have internet or cable at home. My partner and I have to camp out at Starbucks when we need to do internet work, and we occasionally buy a TV season on DVD if it sounds good. This will soon change, though, as the phone company is coming to install internet next week! Still no plans for TV.

9. I LOVE world travel. I’ve been to Canada, USA, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, England, France, Monaco, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Israel, and the West Bank. Those were not all in one trip, of course. I hope to return to world travel in the years to come, but for now, student debt claims my paycheque!

8. I am way older than I look. I still get asked if I’m in high school and ID’d for R-rated movies. I’m 30. But I’m really not complaining!

7. I read voraciously, though you might expect that of a writer. I’m currently at about 40 books for this year – though I slowed down considerably when I changed day jobs, otherwise I’d probably be up around 45 now. I read 63 last year, and I think I’ll surpass that this year.

6. I loved the John Carter of Mars movie, even though it was a phenomenal flop! I’m currently reading through the series of books it’s based on, by Edgar Rice Burroughs. Almost done!

5. I have this weird phobia of balloons. I’m not “afraid” of them, I just don’t like them near my face. (My friend’s sister had one blow up in her face and she had a piece of it stuck on her eye – I think that’s what got me frightened.)

4. I’m a HUGE Trekkie. Not only have I seen all the episodes of all the series (including the animated series) and all the movies, but I also read the books. I’ve read at least a few hundred of them by now. And I have a few stuffed bears dressed in Trek costumes that I got from Star Trek: The Experience in Las Vegas before it closed down.

3. My Star Trek obsession goes further. I have costumes. Yes, plural. I have a command red and a medical/sciences blue uniforms from the Deep Space Nine / Voyager era. I also have a talking combadge, medical tricorder, and phaser. No, I don’t wear them in public.

2. I own a pair of the purple camo briefs that Dustin sports near the end of my book, Autumn Fire. They are super comfy.

1. I’m really not as dirty as my writing makes me seem. There was actually a scene in Autumn Fire deemed too dirty to print and had to be taken out. But me? I’m wholesome!

About Cameron D. James

Cameron D. James is a life-long lover of books, voraciously reading everything from the classics to sci-fi, romance to science and nature, and thrillers to erotica. Understandably, a love of books led to a love of writing, having penned his first story in grade seven (about stolen baseball cards). Having written millions of words by now, Cameron now focusses on one of his favourite genres — gay erotica. Cameron is a fan of Star Trek, having seen every episode of every series (including the animated series) and every movie at least twice. In addition to Star Trek, Cameron also loves physical exercise and seeing how far he can push his body. He’s taken kickboxing, Bikram hot yoga (that’s the super hot and tough one), diving, personal training at the gym, and likes his regular Wii workouts (seriously, they’re a lot more intense than they look). Other interests include listening to electronica music (particularly Armin Van Buuren), puttering around the house (and attempting to grow a garden), and gawking at cute twink baristas at the various coffee shops where’s he’s such a regular that he’s known by first name.
