MY THOUGHTS

The best news is that this book picks up right from the wicked cliffhanger at the end of book one. That’s not all, though. This one keeps up the natural flow of tension and romance as the first. The authenticity of Shiloh’s fears and responses remains as well. Her instincts continue to rock, passing the “idiot test” at every turn, making me love her all the more.

About the Characters

Shiloh is a level-headed, down-to-Earth, good person that in many ways is so relatable it almost hurts. Colt is still the “good guy”, but has a few rougher moments. Creed on the flip side is a sweet hot-head and quite the dirty talker. Keelan has an incredibly sensitive side for being the flirty one, though that quality certainly shines through in the bedroom where he too proves to be a dirty talker. Knox is gruff and demanding. He always tries to do what he feels is best for others, even to his own detriment at times. I’m betting he’s going to be really hot in bed. Logan struggles to do right by Shiloh, but overall seems to genuine. He’s around more in this book and while I like him, he seems to be extremely over protective – not listening to Shiloh’s earnest words and over stepping boundaries. He crosses lines I never would have expected.

Things I Liked

Shiloh’s self-destructive streak, while heart wrenching, feels so realistic. I wanted to climb into the book and hug the stuffing out of her. I am loving how Shiloh is actually developing a female friendship. I think it’ll be really good for her. The best part is how her relationships with the brothers are progressing without feeling forced or rushed.

Things I Didn’t Like

I adore Knox, but he gets really frustrating in this book. He shows he cares and stays true to character, but that makes him no less frustrating. There’s also an incident with a police officer that feels a little over the top.

More Thoughts

I appreciate that the parties featured are pretty harmless. Often times they can be huge sources of extra drama in books. There was one showdown, however, that admittedly happened at one of the parties, that was quite satisfying. I am also loving all the bedroom antics and seeing more of Keelan. I look forward to more Knox.

Everything with Logan…I’m a little surprised things went so off the rails and I honestly don’t know where he and Shiloh go from here. I NEED BOOK THREE!

Does it stand alone?

Not at all, given the nature of the story and the way that it’s told.

Bottom Line

Keeping up the quality and authenticity of the first book, this one holds some much needed healing and fun. The author seems to have a thing for cliffhangers, though, so I was once again left anxiously awaiting the next book.
