Annora risked everything to save her mates, exposing her deepest secrets, and now she must face the consequences when her past catches up with her. To protect her mates, she makes a deal with the devil himself. The only problem—it could cost her soul. Suspended from university, she and her mates are forced to leave its protective walls, dodging hunters and assassins every step of the way. As she trains to master her magic, she learns more about her mates, and discovers she isn’t the only one hiding from their past…secrets that threaten to destroy their fragile bond. When they arrive in Phantom City, not everything is as it seems. If she gives in to her father’s demands, the rest of the world will be in peril—if she doesn’t, she’ll lose her mates once and for all. Neither is acceptable. A daring plan takes shape, but one wrong move could send her world tumbling down around her, and she isn’t sure she’s strong enough to survive it this time.

MY THOUGHTS

What an adventure?! First, yay for more love scenes. Second, everybody is getting more confortable with each other which makes me happy. The most excitement comes from meeting the families of four of the guys. It made the book feel a little chaotic, but mostly in a good way.

About the Characters

Annora is courageous and determined to protect her mates. Edgar is sweet and protective. Camden shows an incredibly sweet side. Mason is forever an adorable, sweet giant. Xander is quiet, but protective. Logan is coming along and it’s nice to see him love Annora even when he’s not yet himself.

Things I Liked

I love how Annora is a natural leader and just seems to collect people, bringing more colorful characters along for the ride. I also appreciate that she and her men are working better together as a group.

Things I Didn’t Like

Phantom politics are still a tad murky for me, but I understand enough to appreciate the outcome. Something else that’s more a confusion than a dislike is Prem. I adore him, but what exactly is he? How powerful is he and what is he capable of?

More Thoughts

The ending of this book is satisfying, but I can’t tell if there is more to come or maybe a spinoff or something. I would definitely be interested.

Does it stand alone?

Not at all. Being all about closure, the characters dive right back into necessary action right from the start.

Bottom Line

Closure is always gratifying, and this book is full of it. Hopefully we’ll get some insight into happier times in more books.
